Gérard Bertholon Chief Strategy Officer of Cuisine Solutions was recently inducted into Maîtres Cuisiniers de France. He received his formal training from three-star Michelin chefs Alain Chapel and Louis Outhier, and two-star Michelin chef Jacques Chibois.
In the fall of 2011, Chef Gérard Bertholon of Cuisine Solutions was one of only 30 chefs around the globe to be officially named a Maître Cuisinier de France. The induction ceremonies were held March 25–27, 2012, in Perpignan, France, on the Mediterranean coast. Chef Gérard joined other new inductees and long-standing members of the association to attend the 2012 Global Conference and to partake in a three-day celebratory gathering. While these French-born chefs represent different generations and work in different culinary environments all over the world, they share common values that qualify them to be considered as Maîtres Cuisiniers de France.
They are all actively involved in training younger chefs, passing on the techniques and traditions of French cuisine, and in giving back to society by supporting various fund-raising charity events.
Early in his career, Chef Gérard came across a copy of the association’s publication listing the Maîtres Cuisiniers de France for the year 1979. He recalls thinking, “If you make it into this book, you’ve really made it.”
Congratulations, Chef Gérard, Maître Cuisinier de France.
